2 Goal Setting Mindset Shifts That Will Transform the Way You Plan Your Business

Setting big business goals can be scary... especially when they are money goals.

If you're someone who values things like lifestyle, family, health and time more than money then you may find it difficult to understand why you'd even set a big money goal.

Does setting big money goals make you materialistic? Greedy?

Do they mean you will have to hustle and spend all of your time working? Neglecting your health, family and wellbeing?

In this podcast episode I do my best to answer those questions and provide a balanced approach to goal-setting.

You'll learn:

  • Why achieving your big goal is not the point of setting them.

  • How to overcome limiting money mindsets

  • What Enough goals and Stretch goals are

  • Why you should pick a goal and then detach from it and focus on the process, making that your goal.

Roadmap to organize your biz.png

Before I had my own business, I used to see photos of women working from home and pretty workspaces and think it looked so easy and fun.

Buttttt after working from home for 8 years now, I can tell you it isn’t always as easy as it seemed at first.

I wholeheartedly believe it can be simple. But simple and easy are not the same.

Sometimes, you’ll have days when you struggle to get stuff done, stay focused or complete your to-do list.

When you just struggle to be productive.

So in today’s episode, I’m going to share EVERYTHING that has helped me personally to be more productive.

You’ll learn:

• How to be productive when your family is home and it's hard to focus

• Why I use work-from-home uniforms

• How I organize my physical workspace for maximum productivity

• What goes in to my morning routine (Related episode: How to create your perfect morning routine)

• And lots more!

But I want to start off by emphasizing: everyone’s work from home flow is different because we’re all unique human beings. What works for one person may not feel good to another. Some of us are morning people, some of us are night owls. Some of us don’t like working weekends, some of us are most productive on weekends.

So when listening to this episode, take the tips that will work for you and leave the rest.

Now, let’s jump in! Click “play” on the podcast player below.

How to Make Time for Hobbies & Rest as an Online Business Owner

How to Make Time for Hobbies & Rest as an Online Business Owner

Sometimes, something weird happens when you turn your creative passion into your business: you stop enjoying it as much.

You focus less on doing it for fun and more on how much money you are or are not making.

The business you initially started because you wanted creative freedom and fulfillment sometimes ends up holding you, your mind and your time prisoner. Before you know it, you’re always working or thinking about your work, your clients, your todo list, and your business growth. Fun, passion, rest, and hobbies become a thing of the past.

If this sounds familiar, today's brand new podcast episode has your name allll over it.

Why I Took a Break from Instagram

Why I Took a Break from Instagram

Let me start by saying, Instagram isn’t bad. It can be a source of inspiration and a great way to connect with other like minded people.

But instagram, if left unchecked, can have a negative impact on our mental wellbeing. And that’s what I’ve noticed happening with me and my PERSONAL Instagram account recently.

I had to take a moment and ask myself:

  • What destroys my peace?

  • What protects my peace?

  • What would happen if I let those things go?

Why?

Because of some of these reasons...

  1. Instagram can be a comparison trap

Not really the biggest problem Instagram causes for me, I’ll go into that later. This used to be a problem for me though with my Business Instagram. I would:

  • Compare other business owner achievements

  • Compare likes

  • Compare lifestyle & money

  • Compare communities

  • Compare where THEY are to where I was

I would like to remind you about a quote by Brene Brown, “Stay in your lane. Comparison kills creativity and joy.” This couldn't be more true.

What to Do When You Want to Invest in Your Business but You Don’t Have the Money

What to Do When You Want to Invest in Your Business but You Don’t Have the Money

Sometimes we say to ourselves...

“I want to join a course, hire a virtual assistant or a coach... but I don’t make enough money to invest in my business yet.”

And I get that. A lot of us want to invest in ourselves and our businesses but we feel like we can’t because of our finances.

I remember making my first big financial investment in my business and it was freakin’ scary!

It was a $500 course and I remember thinking, “that’s SO much money, I’ve never spent this much money on something like this before. What if it isn’t worth it? What if I know everything it teaches already? What if I don’t even use it? What if there’s something more important I should be spending money on?”

It was scary investing $500 in my business (and therefore myself.)

But I was able to understand that I could afford to invest in myself…

I was just scared to let go of that money because I was too focused on temporarily losing that financial investment, and not focused on what I would gain from the investment.
